Reflexology & Natural Wellness at Current Bliss
By Morgan Jorgensen, Certified Reflexologist, 200hr CYT
Reflexology is the science of working with reflex points in the feet, hands, head, and face that correspond with different glands, organs, and body systems. By stimulating these reflexes, we send balance and support to those areas of the body. Many clients experience unique sensations—a zing up the leg, a tingle in the knee or shoulder, or even a shift in the face—as energy moves. Everyone’s experience is different, depending on their body, lifestyle, and wellness needs!
Reflexology can be a powerful tool for overall wellness, and this is something we can explore one-on-one when you book a session.
I’ve recently dove into the study of Naturopathy, and I’m excited to bring this modality to Current Bliss in the fall! Over the next two and a half years, I’ll continue my education to become a Functional Naturopath, but for now, my studies are deep in one of my favorite topics—the nervous system.
As a yoga instructor and natural healer, I’m fascinated by how our nervous system connects our emotional well-being to physical dis-ease. Many of us live in a constant state of fight or flight (our sympathetic nervous system), activated by daily stressors—work, social media, schedules, trauma, and just life in general! When we’re stuck in this heightened state, our body isn't functioning optimally:
Our senses are on high alert, trying to protect us
Our digestion slows down, conserving energy
Muscles tense up, preparing for action
Breathing speeds up, fueling the response
And then, we go to bed carrying all these stressors into our sleep, only to wake up and do it all over again.
This is where reflexology and yoga come in. Both practices help activate the parasympathetic nervous system—your rest, heal, and digest state. Through guided breathwork, intentional movement, and reflex stimulation, we give your body the space to slow down, release tension, and process life more calmly. This allows you to move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and ease—no matter what life throws at you.
The Nervous System & Reflexology
Our body is made up of nerves and nerve endings, and two of the most well-known (and most talked-about in wellness) are the vagus nerve and the sciatic nerve—both of which can be stimulated through reflexology!
The vagus nerve helps shift the body into rest and digest, allowing for deeper relaxation and healing. Reflexology stimulates this response, helping your body find balance.
The sciatic nerve is a common pain point, and I work with many clients experiencing sciatica. Reflexology, combined with strengthening the lower back, can help relieve sciatic pain and discomfort.
Neuropathy & Naturopathy
Another condition I often work with is neuropathy. While the exact causes can vary, diabetic neuropathy is one of the most common types. Through my studies in naturopathy, I’m learning how to support clients with supplementation, nutrition, and natural wellness techniques, alongside reflexology, to keep nerve endings alive and thriving—which reduces those pain sensations.
This is just one example of how I’ll be able to work with clients on a deeper, naturopathic level to support holistic wellness goals.
